The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to announce our next “Public Sector Community of Practice,” a quarterly roundtable forum designed for leaders and continuous improvement professionals in the public sector to explore ways to improve outcomes, share best practices, and network. The CoP will feature a discussion each quarter that focuses on some aspect of improving local government performance — topics such as effective leadership, workforce engagement, customer focus, process improvement, measurement, and other relevant subjects. The CoP is intended for all levels of leadership and any CI professional from city, county, or state government (private sector leaders, consultants, and other professionals are encouraged to attend PEN’s other learning and networking events). It is brought to you in partnership with the State of Minnesota’s CI effort within the Department of Administration.
The next discussion will be Tuesday, November 19 from 2:00-4:00 PM in Minneapolis (hosted by Hennepin County & the Minneapolis Central Library) and will feature a facilitated peer-to-peer discussion on best practices in identifying metrics/data needed to monitor, evaluate, improve agency performance, process or team performance, or project performance. The discussion will include three separate rounds of discussion (using Art of Hosting or World Cafe format) to identify and explore different ways better use data to improve performance. The session will be facilitated by Irina Fursman of Hue.Life.
You can participate in person or virtually through streaming. To attend in person (at Mpls Central Library), plan to arrive 1:45-2:00 for informal networking and a light snack; discussion is 2:00-4:00. For streaming, you are welcome to view/participate from anyway, but we encourage “cluster” sites with other public sector leaders in your area. Details (link/instructions) provided after registration.
Each organizational member of PEN has five (5) comp seats included in their membership! Additional seats for members are $25/each. Non-members $50/each.
So come try out the forum — learn practices that can improve your organization’s performance and network with local public sector leaders and professionals who are passionate about continuous improvement and performance excellence!
