SESSION CHANGED TO JANUARY 30 DUE TO WEATHER!!

Winona Health began its quality journey in 2003, and its community was a key motivator for and beneficiary of the health system’s efforts.

The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to welcome Rachelle Schultz, President/CEO of Winona Health, to our January 30 (note date change) Rochester PEN breakfast discussion: “The QI and Community Link.”

Rachelle will share continuous improvement efforts that have focused on strengthening its community interactions, programs, and services.  These initiatives have resulted in improved patient outcomes, strengthened market share, and gains in patient satisfaction scores.  Winona Health includes a 99-bed acute care hospital, physician clinics, 125-bed nursing home, three assisted living facilities, hospice, retail pharmacies, foundation, and related healthcare services.  Rachelle’s successful working style focuses on service excellence, continuous performance improvement, Lean management systems, and team development.

After her presentation, the regional Karl Shurson Quality Awards will be announced.  Shurson, a long-time IBM Rochester executive, played a key role on the facility’s 1990 Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award team.  He helped found the Rochester Area Quality Council (now PEN-SE MN) and later co-founded Pemstar, a firm acquired by Benchmark in 2007.  His three focus areas were community, customer service, and staff learning.

The discussion is January 30 at Woodlake Meeting Center, Rochester MN (details provided after registration). Continental breakfast will be served from 7:15 to 7:45 with announcements at 7:45 and the presentation from 8:00 to 9:00 am.
