The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to welcome Melissa Goodson, Assistant Professor, Management School of Business & Technology at the College of St. Scholastica, to our August 9 St. Paul PEN breakfast discussion: “SEAM: A New Approach to Leading Change.”

Melissa will share an overview of SEAM, the Socio-Economic Approach to Management, that originated in France.  She will share the CSS case study — of how the College identified, quantified and reduced hidden costs, as well as how the College uses SEAM to successfully lead change through an inclusive, people-led process.

SEAM begins with the leaders of the organization, assessing what is not functioning well, and correcting these dysfunctions. The interventions combines the diagnosis and correction with the introduction of six management tools, assessment of hidden costs, and political and strategic aspects of the change process. At the heart of SEAM is the dual emphasis: reduce hidden costs and then develop the human potential of all the employees.

The discussion is at Metro State University in the Student Center (details provided at registration). Continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:00 with the presentation from 8:00 to 9:00 am. No cost for members; $30 for non-members. To register, contact Brian Lassiter at [email protected].

Livestreaming (free) and video-on-demand ($20 for members) are now also available (discounted annual subscriptions are available and Premium/Sponsoring Members are free). Please contact [email protected] for more information and for the link to register for livestream or on demand.
