Planning for the future is always difficult, as no one has that proverbial crystal ball.  But this year – with constantly shifting variables, increasing risk and complexity related to the pandemic and the economic uncertainty – navigating risks and setting priorities for the future is extraordinarily challenging.  As most leaders set their sights on the second half of 2020 and consider setting goals and budgets for 2021, they are faced with unprecedented challenges.
The Performance Excellence Network – in partnership with Greater Mankato Growth – is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, July 23: “Planning for the Future: Setting Goals, Navigating Risk, Creating a 2021 Budget in the Face of Growing Uncertainty.”  The discussion will feature leaders of two professional service firms: Steve McDonald, managing partner at Abdo, Eick & Meyers and Michael Jacobs, managing partner of the Greater Mankato area Fredrikson & Byron. With their expertise in accounting/finance, law and ethics, and their overall business acumen, the discussion will center on how leaders can balance the realities of today with the hope for tomorrow.

McDonald and Jacobs will each share their thoughts about the challenges they are seeing with clients today in planning and navigating an unpredictable future, and then will begin an interactive dialogue with participants to explore issues that PEN and GMG members are currently facing.  Topics may include:

  • How organizations can reprioritize their 2020 initiatives, reallocating resources on highest priority objectives
  • How leaders can set goals and budget for 2021, with the environment constantly changing
  • How to mitigate some of the risks facing organizations today, such as safely returning to work, managing cash with unpredictable customer demand, responding if/when employees present with COVID at work, and others

As leaders continue to grapple with waves of uncertainty, they must still balance the needs of today with an eye toward the future.  Don’t miss this opportunity to explore some insights and best practices that can help your business, organization, or team navigate today’s challenges and move into a better future.

The discussion will be a live Zoom Webinar Thursday, July 23 from 8:00-9:00 CT.  Grab your coffee and join us for a rich discussion.  Free for PEN and GMG members and all guests ($20 non-member fee waived for this session).
