Effective organizations are led by effective leaders, and leaders can improve their effectiveness by increasing their mindfulness.
The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to welcome Stacy Johnston of Audacity Human Resource Solutions, to our Mar 20 TPPEN breakfast featuring a discussion on: “Mindful Leadership.”
Stacy will help us explore one of the most researched, most powerful trends in leadership today. Mindful leaders “embody leadership presence. We need leaders who not only understand themselves but who are not afraid to be open- hearted and who have the strength of character to make ethical choices,” says Janice Marturano, Institute for Mindful Leadership.
Almost 10 years of research confirms the connection between mindfulness and well-being. One study found that two weeks of mindfulness training increased well-being, decreased emotional exhaustion, and increased job satisfaction. Other research has shown outcomes such as reduced stress, enhanced creativity and improved resilience… positively impacting engagement, decreasing turnover and improving productivity.
Join us on a compelling journey into the neuroscience-based research behind mindful leadership, as we explore not only the science, but also techniques to help leaders at all levels improve their mindfulness — and therefore their effectiveness.
The discussion will be hosted by UMD’s Center for Economic Development in Duluth (details after registration). Continental breakfast will be served from 7:00 to 7:30 with the discussion from 7:30 to 8:30 am. No cost for members; $20 for non-members.
