In today’s world, workers are faced with accelerating amounts of change. So how do organizations promote their safety, sanity, and success amid this avalanche of change? How do organizations balance “real work” with improvement and change efforts?
The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to welcome Skip Valusek, Chief Executive & Operations Officer at In-Home Lab Connection, to our September 14 St. Paul PEN breakfast discussion: “Managing Change by Load Balancing Improvement Initiatives.”
Skip’s discussion will include:
- a different perspective on how change affects patient safety (for healthcare), staff sanity/satisfaction, AND the probability of success of your project or program of projects;
- the recognition and agreement that the avalanche of change should be addressed as two processes;
- a walk through the components of a “Change Calendar”: how it differs from a project portfolio, and an approach to estimate the cognitive impact of projects on front-line staff; and
- a discussion of what it takes to champion a Change Calendar in your organization.
Skip’s discussion will be highly interactive, and is particularly important to knowledge- and decision-intense industries such as healthcare, education, airlines, financial services, and others (though the insights apply to any industry).
The discussion is at Metro State University in the Ecolab Room in the Library (details provided at registration). Continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:00 with the presentation from 8:00 to 9:00 am. No cost for members; $30 for non-members. To register, contact Brian Lassiter at [email protected].
Livestreaming and video-on-demand are now also available ($20 for members, $40 for non-members; discounted annual subscriptions are available and Premium/Sponsoring Members are free). Please contact [email protected] for more information and for the link to register for livestream or on demand.
