The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to welcome Pam Haats, Innovation Leader at Hennepin County, to our August 4 PEN breakfast discussion: “Facilitating Innovation, Excellence, Leadership at Hennepin County.”
Pam will share how the County’s ABLE (Action Based Leadership Experience) and ABLE Light programs drive a culture of innovation and excellence across enterprise. ABLE is an 18-month program which involves “mobility assignments” that provides learning-through-doing in the following areas: continuous improvement, innovation, leadership, risk management, project management, facilitation, change management, analysis, surveys, evaluation, strategy management, metrics, and reporting. ABLE Light is a less than full-time option (25% commitment) to learn while performing their own department’s work with support from ABLE program. The program recruits and trains cohorts within the County, then coordinates mobility assignments while supporting the work through mentoring and relationships. Pam will share how the County structured the programs, what value they have contributed to the enterprise, and what lessons they’ve learned along the way that would be helpful to organizations with similar approaches to applied learning.
The discussion is Aug 4 Minneapolis Community and Technical College, downtown Minneapolis, in room L3000 (details provided after registration). Continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:00 with the presentation from 8:00 to 9:00 am. To register, contact Brian Lassiter at [email protected].
Livestreaming and video-on-demand are now also available ($20 member, $40 non-member; free for Premium/Sponsoring Members). Please contact [email protected] for more information and for the link to register for livestream or on demand.
