There’s a difference between having a smart organization (or team) and a healthy one. According to management guru Pat Lencioni, smart organizations excel at the management sciences — things like strategy, marketing, finance, technology — while healthy organizations have perfected their cultures — they have minimal politics and confusion, high levels of morale and productivity, and low turnover. Organizations need both. However, most organizations are smart, but not necessarily healthy.
The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to welcome Don Berglund, retired CEO of Innovative Blood Resources, a local, regional and national provider blood products and laboratory services (formerly Memorial Blood Centers), to our November 7 Minneapolis PEN breakfast & livestream discussion: “Creating Smart AND Healthy Organizations.”
Don will share more of Lencioni’s philosophy on creating smart and health teams and organizations, mixing in his personal leadership experience, drawing on his time at Memorial Blood Centers and Fairview Health Services, as well as another multi-divisional health services organization. He’ll offer practical tips for leaders at all levels to create smart AND healthy teams.
The discussion is Nov 7 at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, downtown Minneapolis, downtown Minneapolis: T Building, 1415 Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis (room T-1400); details provided in confirmation after registration. Continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:00 with the presentation from 8:00 to 9:00 am. No cost for PEN members; $30 for non-member guests.
The discussion will also be made available to view through Facebook livestream (free for all PEN members) and/or video-on-demand ($20 members, $40 non-members; free for Premium/Sponsoring members).
