Many organizations are subject to compliance standards – JACHO for healthcare, Higher Learning Commission for higher ed, various state/federal regulations for all types of businesses (such as FDA, OSHA, EPA, and so on). But there is a big difference between satisfying the day-to-day requirements of these various compliance standards (of viewing them as necessary things that have to be done” to stay in business) versus fully integrating standards with organizational strategic plans.
The Performance Excellence Network welcomes Pat Lapekas (of Lapekas & Associates) and Pat O’Boyle (of Fire-Formed Consulting), to our April 2 breakfast discussion: “Aligning and Integrating Compliance Tactics to Performance Excellence Strategies.”
Pat and Pat will share their experience helping organizations move from merely complying with standards to moving toward excellence. Through case studies and examples with clients, they will explore how they engage senior leaders to:
- understand their role and accountability to drive and participate in changing the organizational culture to embrace standards of practice;
- align ISO certification and/or accreditation requirements to strategic focus area;
- move from corrective actions to preventative actions; and
- review key organizational and process metrics to drive continuous improvement and recognize innovation and innovative practices.
The discussion is April 2 at Minneapolis Community and Technical College in room L3000. Networking is from 7:30 to 8:00 with the discussion from 8:00 to 9:00. No cost for members; $30 for non-members.
