Today’s staffing challenges are persistent: finding, engaging, and keeping good talent is still difficult and will be for many years. And staffing impacts service levels, customer experience, productivity, and morale of the rest of the team. Leaders at all levels and within all types of organizations need to find innovative ways to navigate today’s staffing shortage.
The Performance Excellence Network — in partnership with the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence and the Iowa Quality Center — is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, June 27: “Improving Retention, Increasing Engagement.” The discussion will feature three leaders, each giving a short “TEDtalk” overview in which they share their insights, strategies, solutions, and tips for addressing the staffing shortage by improving retention & workforce engagement. Our speakers include:
- Tonika Shobe, Director of Recruiting & Retention, State of MN, Direct Care & Treatment (St. Paul)
- Craig Smith, Director of Operations, South Dakota Department of Transportation (Sioux Falls)
- Jackie Kimmet, Chief Human Resources Officer, River’s Edge Hospital (St. Peter)
After each presents his/her initial thoughts, we’ll engage in dialogue to explore further workforce strategies of these three organizations, as well as insights from those participating in the webinar. As work environments continue to evolve, attracting, engaging, and retaining good employees may be our biggest future challenge — and opportunity. Come explore ways that organizations are addressing the issue — ideas that you can use in your organization today!
This session is Thursday, June 27 8:00-9:00 CT (optional speed networking and mingling 7:45-8:00), using Zoom MEETING. Grab your coffee and breakfast, and join us for a rich discussion. Free for PEN/WCPE/IQC members; $20 for non-members.
